I had a look at the gun in hand today. I can't get over how small the action is. I took some pix in my hand. At 5lbs 6oz, the balance feels much more appropriately forward weighted than my 28" 28ga Repro, which is within 2oz of this gun. The Ferlib swings like a heavier gun. Not wippy at all. I think I'm really going to like this one. The chokes are .021/.013. or F/M, with tapers around 5" long and no straight section. The barrels are moderately worn plumb colored. I assume they were plumb colored from the factory. The stock looks like it's had a rough life. Plenty of little dings. Looks like a second over-coat of a finish on the stock as well. I'll shoot it a season and see if it's a keeper. If so, the stock will get a refinish in a traditional style. The barrels will probably get a blue/black finish, as this is my preference.     Engraving signature?

That is beautiful. The tiny scroll so accentuates the smallness of the gun. What a find! I so much want to see it in person. That is coin finish on the receiver, correct?

Chuck, gauge? BBl length? LOP? Balance to front trigger?
Guns of similar weight can handle quite differently if they have differing weight distributions.

It's a 410, 28" bbls, 14 3/4", 5lbs 6oz, per G&H. I haven't weighed it nor measured CG. It's going to be in California "gun jail" for 10days.

When I looked at the barrels, they tapered quickly from the breach, yet seemed to have thick walls at the muzzles. That, and the fact that the receiver is small/light, may be the reason the balance is forward.

"U.S. District Judge Anthony Ishii of Fresno said the 10-day wait for current gun owners is a restriction on constitutional rights that isn't justified by safety concerns. He noted that all firearms purchasers, including second- and third-time buyers, must pass a state background check of their criminal and mental-health records, but said it was unreasonable to make gun owners wait the full 10 days to acquire another weapon."
His ruling was on Aug. 26, 2014.

Stan that ruling and the one about the concealed carry , have been tied up in some sort of legal maneuver. Still no ccw in my county, but many counties in CA are issuing.
