Additional images of the Clark & Sneider

I don't know if I recall the Petermam - Philadelphia fella. Guess I'll have to drop by your house to garner the info?

Thank You. I enjoy reading about the "Big Bores." I recently saw a Parker 8 Gauge Double, which was only the second one I had ever seen. It was neat.

Those are wonderful pieces. Fantastic damascus pattern, colors and condition. Wow!!

I too would like to someday acquire a similar action single shot, but I would be comfortable with something more like a 10, 12 or 16 gauge.

Thank you again.

True" 4 gauge is 1.052", 5 ga is .976" & 6ga is .919". Most 4 gauge guns which have proof marks will be proofed as a 6 though they are chamber marked as 4 gauge.
I have been told this was because the 4 was first introduced using thin brass huls. When paper hulls began to be used the chamber size was retained but the bore size dropped to be compatible with the smaller wads required in the thicker walled paper hulls.

Thanks for sharing them; they're mighty, impressive arms.

I agree that hammer singles can be under-appreciated; I used a W&C Scott hammer single 10ga on Cape Barren geese in January; it was a hot.

Glad to assist Dr. McPhail. I'd fancy seeing that H.A. Lindner 4 bore. Is it a member of the family or just passing thru?
