I have a 1900 Remington the letters are KEDY. I can find info on the KED 2 Strip damascus with ejectors. What does the Y stand for?

Also I would like to respond to the question about tightening up a double gun.I just had one done by Mark at Marks Born Again Bird Guns in Mosinee Wisconsin. Fair price,fast service,clean work. I have shot a couple hundred rounds (trap loads) through the gun since getting it back and no problem.

Pretty sure there is no one left alive who knows what these codes on the bottom of the barrels mean.

X
K
E
A1 on a 1909 vintage KE-Grade 16-gauge --

///
K
E
Y on a 1906 vintage KE-Grade 12-gauge --

///
F
E
G
13 on a 1906 vintage 12-gauge FE-Grade Trap Gun --

///
M on a 1906 vintage 12-gauge CEO-Grade --

X
O on a 1905 vintage 16-gauge DEO-Grade --

P
A on a 1896 vintage 12-gauge AE-grade --

B
J
E on a 1895 vintage 12-gauge BE-Grade --

We can make guesses on some of them, but many remain a mystery.

I thought it "was agreed" that Remington SxS barrel code "D" was for Damascus, and the code "E" was for ejectors. The others seem to remain a mystery....

And another.
Fused 'JP', possibly the mark of J. Pire & Cie, a large munitions firm established in Liege in 1885, or rough forged tube maker Jules Pirard-Ancion or Jacques Pirotte & Fils.

All seven guns I showed are ejector guns and three don't have an E, so I think that is wishful thinking. It may be the case in the last few year's guns.
