This is a loaded question, but I need your input. I am looking for a trap gun that will not break my pocketbook. Cabela's has a Remington 3200 trap gun for $1155 and a SKB 600 with 32" barrels for around $975. I am looking to buy one of them. Sales personnel recommend the 3200. They state availability of parts and service by Remington. I thought Remington no longer was providing parts and service. Nice gun with nice wood and Morgan pad. The SKB 600 has 32" barrels and monte carlo stock. I know of the SKB's reputation, that is the ones made in Japan. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Unless the 3200 has been shot a lot parts should not be that big an issue. I shot one 250 K + with only one minor repair. Liabs has parts and does great service if needed. Buy the one which fits you best.

We need more information. Is the 3200 a later version with only one pin?  If the earlier two-pin version has it had the factory modifications?  If it is a two-pin version without the factory modifications (two hex-head screws at the bottom corners of the breech face) that is too much money. I would definitely pick a Model 3200 over an SKB.

Thirty-two inch barrels are all the rage, and you will have to decide if that pushes the decision one way or another. It can shade the price, too.
I have an SKB trap, a 3200 skeet, and have spent some nice time with a 3200 trap. For targets, the 3200 is a great platform with regard to weight (8.75-9.25#) and balance (a bit weight forward). The SKBs are lighter and more neutral in balance; mine has been trouble free but I can't tell you I have put a ton of shells through it. I much prefer the 3200. If the 3200 is an updated two-pin, that's the winner. I think $1200 for a clean one is a good deal.

the people I know with 3200's (with all the upgrades) seem to be fixing triggers or something all the time and it ain't cheap. The SKB may not have whatever cachet the 3200 has (none for me, thanks) but it will not let you down.
If you don't want to spend a lot, don't. And Cabelas is not the place to find bargains JIC you haven't looked around.
