If you want 21 handling and quality get a 21. If you want a sears gun forget that AandA and get a model 153.512350. Nice dimentions and 6 lbs 10 oz (12). Solid gun by Laurona. I really like the small semi BT forearm. Wish they had selected better wood though, tools deserve something tough.

I like Model 21's! Have owned a few and hunted and shot clay birds with them. Still own a Custom Shop 'Custom Grade' 20 3" and a CSMC 'Baby frame' 28 Grand American. But the OP asked about a gun and we get the same old Posts about Model 21's that I have read 'ad naseum' over the years. Even though i like Model 21's, the short of it is that the gun in question is way overpriced, not very suitable for waterfowl or anything. Move on!-Richard

Thanks Don. I thought it just a change in expression. I wouldn't go that way for two reasons. "There is no spoken word that cannot be misinterpreted", and secondly, "Precision is it's own reward."
Integrating science, and accurate (and honest ;)) measurements into our sporting performance should change results if applied.
As elegantly as Richard Faulds swings a shot gun, I can never match it because I am built differently.
Out there doing it best I can.

Bob, no issue with me. There has been so much subjective disparagement over the years of M-21 handling I didn't consider your note hostile, just a slight misunderstanding. I wish we could move away from subjective arguments on handling and change them to objective discussions of how individuals react to handling profiles. DDA

Thanks for the feedback, Clap. I'll include both terms for the future so we cover both bases.

Don, I am a great admirer of your work. If I wasn't, I probably would never have noticed the change in nomenclature.
Out there doing it best I can.

Gents:Slightly off topic, however model'21-related. Need comments ts from the 21 experts.
After shooting 100's of sporting clays and trap targets with three different model 21's I recently noticed that the screw which comes up from the bottom through the head of the stock works itself loose.
The trigger guard has to be removed in order to tighten this one. Has anyone else experienced this?
Should this screw be set in Locktite? Any comments appreciated. Perly88

This early Model 21 has been for sale at about $4,000 for quite a while.
First year Serial No. Supposedly unmolested and not refinished 12 ga. 30" barrels Modified/Full, 14" LOP
Does this look like the real deal?
Is it a $4000 gun?
Thank you in advance.
Did you buy that Winchester?
