I want to thank those who have responded to my query. It finally dawned on me to phone Southwest Airlines. I was told I could bring it with me as long as it was packed in a locked gun case. I currently dont have a gun case so I purchased an inexpensive one at Gander Mountain and will use it. Southwest allows two checked bags so taking it with me wont cost any more.
Sending it to Crosman is a good idea except that I want the pleasure of fixing it myself (its a Steve thing).
As far as the USPS goes, Im currently living/traveling in an RV and dont have a current stable domicile to ship it to other than my mail drop, which would end up entailing more costs to reship it after I settle in my new temporary home (Im currently looking at Ruidoso NM).
