With all the alterations someone did to this one, am I risking my want of a 16 ga. shooter clouding my judgement?  Parker Bros. VH 16 gauge
30" barrels; O size frame; made 1905. Decent bores, tight action. Has been re-blued - some marks on outside of lower barrels near muzzle. I'll be pleased to answer any of your questions. $875 plus shipping and insurance.

It's a 30" 0-Frame 16. If it's tight with decent dimensions, jump on it.

Red pad yes... But still a Pachmyer.
Barrels likely hot blued. Though it is far from original and unmolested, the price is reasonable for what it is as a shooter given what 0 frame 16s sell for normally.
But... Proceed with caution and inspect the barrels closely for sleeving, solder joint integrity and wall thickness. 0 frame 16s are on the thin side to start with.

There is a bit of a mark on the picture where a sleeve joint would be found.

Possibly sleeved, Yes, Mono-Blocked, NO. Not that is unless a whole new mono-block set of barrels were built as Parker's did not come from the factory with a mono-block. Simply cutting the forward portion of a set of dovetail jointed barrels does not a mono-block make. The term Mono means the entire rear portion; barrel breeches, lugs etc were machined from "ONE" (mono) block of steel.

It is definitely not sleeved, and the asking price is in Canadian dollars. I do agree that less than perfect guns should be inspected personally by the buyer.

If the barrels are in good shape you have found an affordable shooter that Parker collectors should not lament what ever you do to or with it. 875 C is about 668 U.S. $. You'd be hard pressed to find another for that price. But keep it as a shooter. Don't try to restore that gun it just had too much done to it to ever be put back into original condition or original configuration I should say.

Thanks 2-piper for your explanation of "mono-blocked". We hear that term used all to often in regard to a set of barrels that have been sleeved. And the term "sleeved" should neither be confused with "lined". Thanks again!
PS I'd buy it as a shooter.
