For stock finishing I wet sand with maroon, usually 2-3 coats to fill pores, then 2-3 coats
Using the gray pads to finish. I use a circular motion and continue until the finish is no longer a free liquid on the surface.

You can use the white pads for a final buff to a nice satin finish on just about any surface. Big round white pads are used by professional floor finishers, but small rectangular pads (like Leighton's maroon pad) are available from auto body shop suppliers. I get the white ones, used, from floor finishers and cut them to whatever size I need. Can be washed before use for important projects.

Don't ask me how I know, but the green ones will scratch a chrome bumper.

Don't get the idea to use them to scrub petrified bug guts off of your truck windshield either. They will also scratch glass.

A razor blade works well to remove all the junk on your windsheild. If your wipers are streaking try it.

I read somewhere that the Green pads have silica in them for the abrasive.

I prefer wood to plastic, leather to nylon, waxed cotton to Gore-Tex, and split bamboo to graphite.
