This is a value question. From time to time I pick up a gun to sell, it helps fund the ones I want. I have come accross a W.H.Davenport firearms co. 8ga single shot. Address is norwitch conn. aug 11 18??, no S/N. The barrel is damascus and has some pittinging in the barrel, Barrel is 36" and near 1/4" thich at the muzzle. Action has old blue on it. Barrel has no finish on it. Lever is a just Left but the gun is loose. It has a checkered thumb lever that unscrews from the side of the action to take the barrel off. Stock is solid but forend has a crack running down from the front about 8" long. To me its a wall hanger , to others it may be a project? I can get it for 400.00
I thought the guage may make it more valuable. I know Im not sending the kids to scool on it but do you think it would be worth more to the large bore lover?
