It was indeed an enjoyable shoot! Thank you, Mark, and all of the hard workers from the Medford club, and the vendors who also put in a long weekend!

Hey Dave--Sorry I missed you. Too many guns to ogle, too many opportunities to shoot, etc. You planning on making Woods & Meadows? Pretty sure we'll have an Iowa contingent there.

GN scores are now posted. I needed to break one more target to tie for a Lewis Class. My streak continues. UP Shoot, Great Northern . . . always a bridesmaid.

Larry,
You think you were the bridesmaid? I was number 46. Not the first time I've been in that place. At least I got to shoot with Dave and ogle Len and Bob's shotguns!
Regards,
Jeff

Larry, I saw you a couple times in passing. We can catch up at Woods & Meadows!

It was a pleasure watching Jeff shoot! He makes it look so easy.

Very good shooting, Jeff. I was 52, a class down from you but only 1 target off from tying for a gun. Nothing new for me either. I was even closer the last year of the UP Shoot, when I lost Class B on a tiebreaker.

Actually Larry, it appears you were two targets short of tying for B-Class Lewie. (Class winners are the scores posted above each line.) I lucked out hitting the B-Class winner and chose this, a 12-ga. #2 frame Parker GH with 30" damascus barrels choked .040/.040 with 3 1/4" of luscious drop! The Parker was refinished by Mark Beasland:

When shooting side events one buys tickets. You put your shooter's number on the these tickets and drop them in a jug at the start of each of the side events, they then get thrown in a drum and then drawn during the awards ceremony for raffle prizes. These raffle prizes are generously donated by exhibitors and others. These donations are one of the components that makes this shoot so special -- and we shooters are most appreciative and thank them for their donations! Fortunately, my number was drawn twice. I won a hand-engraved money clip, shaped like a lockplate of a sidelock gun, donated by Bob Strosin and rust bluing of a set of barrels donated by Mark Robson.

I've been to this shoot 9 times - 7 in the UP and twice to Medford. I shoot a zillion side events and I have won exactly ZERO door prizes. I'm beginning to think its a conspiracy. I've brought several friends over the years and they all win nice prizes including 2 Lewis class guns and an Arietta in the UP. God hates me.

I've been to all eleven Yoopers and all three Great Northerns and have come away with three Lewis Class Parkers and oodles of raffle prizes. In fact, I believe there's only been a year or two in there that I didn't win something . . . It's better to be lucky, rather than good.

Thanks for that correction, WS. And congratulations! I now feel better knowing that I was 2 targets shy.

I did win a bottle of wine. But even excluding the gun, I'd say you did pretty well in the raffle. Sounds like you've won enough that we need to get the Medford guys to toss out all your ticket stubs next year!
