Michael mentioned to me once that the 150 gr. Remington PSP and 44.0 grains of IMR 4895 shot very well in several Niedner and a Pope .30/06 barrel, which he felt were benchmarks, that this gave him something to compare others to. Of course many of these would be NRA sales rifles and Star Gauged. I sent him a selection of Sierra Matchkings including 155gr. PALMA and warned him that the PALMA bullet had a short bearing surface. It shot well in the Ross King/Pope, but he went back to the Remington bullet. Not a day goes by that I do not miss that guy!!
