Yesterday at a gun show, I ran across a Classic Doubles M201. It appears to be a close copy of the Win. M21 except it doesn't have the Win. 21 trigger and the action at the knuckle seems to be built for extractors even though the extractors are split. I thought the Classic Doubles were copies of the Win. M23 and the M101. I would like to find out who made them, if they are copies of the M21, differences, ect. With the price of real M21's going into the stratosphere, the Classic Doubles may be a reasonable alternative at 1/4 to 1/3 the price. I did find a M23 and compared the two and the Classic Double is definitely different from the M23. Thanks!!

Made by Kodensha,. Same factory that made Model 23 and late 101s.
Also, Parker repro. Model 201 is same gun as Parker repro with less fancy filing of receiver.

It's a good one. Had 12br with 26" choke tubed barrels. It's M21/Parker Bros. chimera, having features of both. With brazed, chrome-lined barrels it made great marsh gun, but I had to use camo gun sock to cut down on glare. For info check The Double Guns of Olin-Kodensha in Spring 2001 issue of DGJ.

Probably more accurate to say that the guts of the 201 are the same as the Parker Repro. Externally, it was made up to look like a 21. It replaced the 23 when Classic Doubles took over from Olin-Kodensha.
