I am not famliar model 42 and my friend offered me this single barrel field grade in 95% condition choked Full with 28" plain tube for $1K. SN is 85,7xx
He needs the cash and I do not collect single barrels but a .410 might be nice on local doves.
Any help on year of manufacture and value.

Wonderfully good little guns. Good price, you would be lucky to find a nice condition one for less. Made in November 1949.

You will not regret owning one, I promise! I use mine on preserve quail when ever I need to eat some humble pie. Fun on opening day doves also, and for squirrels? The very best! Enjoy and teach a child to shoot!!!

I don't even like pump guns, and I've handled some 42's that I've come very close to buying. What a neat little gun!

You can add a beautiful stock for rather little as they require only a short piece of wood.
