Bobby,
Funny you mention a GR2 28ga. Sold mine to a buddy about 11 years ago. He is selling it back to me, and I should have it next week. Can hardly wait to have the old girl in hand again.

Earlier this year I bought a 20 gauge 24" Grade 2 Flues and a few weeks later a 28 gauge 24" Grade 2 Flues, both of which Walt authenticated for me. I prefer the 28 gauge with the straight grip over the 20 with the pistol grip but they both are very nice guns. I suspect 24" barrels on the smaller gauges aren't rare at all.

The Spring of 1995 Double Gun Journal has an article written by Walt Snyder that mentions a few 24 inch barreled Ithaca guns. Some had swamped ribs. One mentioned was ordered by Colonel Askins. Another is referenced that was special ordered but the order was cancelled a few weeks later.

There does not seem to be that many ever made.
