I also shoot targets with this. 6.25 lb Fox 20 gauge. I believe this qualifies as a game gun.

Here are a couple of the SKBs for sale on shotgun world. Both are $2050 and both have 30" bbls.. The 28ga weighs 6lbs and the 410 weighs 5 lbs 12oz.

Those are the flat ribbed field guns. The high rib sporters should weigh a little more.

I saw a 200HR 30" .410 advertised used. The advertised weight was 6 lbs. I think somewhere between 6 even and 6# 6 oz. is a safe bet.

This is interesting... It's seems Italian maker Perugini & Visini is also contracting with this same Turkish maker, Akus, to produce a line of guns. That is quite a testimony if Perugini & Visini (who builds the Purdey Sporter) is willing to put their names on it. These appear to have upgraded wood too.... Same basic gun though as the SKB and new Dickinson Plantation guns.

This is a side plated model like the SKB

This one is a round body 20ga sidelock (like the old Kimber Valier)

Adam, thanks for the links. I noticed that the P & V name more than doubles the price of the gun. Pretty wood. I'll take the SKB or Dickinson.

When I view inventory of dealer unknown to me I look over offerings I'm familiar with. For me that would be pre-64 Model 70. He has couple of std. grade .30-06 guns with 25" barrels for $3500. That tells me it's time to move on......

tw,

I probably need to be kick in the butt. But I have owned both a 32" Super Fox and a 32" Sterlingworth. Honestly I didn't shoot either well.

JNW,

The P gun is it! Unfortunately I'm moving to a new house this week and don't need an additional mortgage to finance a gun smile.
