More pictures to come, but here are a few quick shots of a couple rifles that followed me home today. The first a very early G&H 03 with a Fugger engraved floorplate and trigger guard, the second a Shelhamer .270 on a commercial mauser. Thanks to another forum member for pointing out the fact that the floorplate is signed by Fugger, I would never have caught it. More to come. John

Nice. I have Shelhamer #1198. '03 made about 1956.

There were some good buys at Rock Island, especially on Mausers, Springfields, early customs. Makes little since to me to commission a new custom.

Nice! Both signatures offer encouragement. Please translate the entire Fugger inscription. I've attributed a couple of engraved guns to Fugger, just can't look to closely for identifiers but it's good to see his mark in a specific and "normal" location. Would love to see more pics (but I know you are a busy man).

Gasgunner, can you give us item numbers on your new guns? There are a bunch of Griffins in there.

One of the G&H that was to be sold today was an obvious fake with very large barrel marks and nothing that looked like it was done by G&H. But it had a G&H letter which was done with just the G&H number as identification. The gun didn't even have the features the letter stated. Letter said it had Alaskan scope and recoil pad but the gun didn't have any mount for a scope and had a steel BP. Plus I have the G&H rifle with that number that does have the correct features that came from RIA 12 years ago.

They are lot #'s 1369 and 1370 If you hover your mouse over the thumbnail picture of the floorplate you can clearly see the engravers name around the floorplate release hole. Clicking on the thumbnail does not enlarge it as much as hovering over it with your mouse. I agree with Dan that lot # 3637 is not a G&H rifle. John
