According to my Blue Book, they were a division of O.F. Mossberg circa 1973-1975. They basically had 2 o/u models the 1500 and 1000. The 1000 had 2 grades. Each was available as hunting, trap or skeet for a total of 9 offerings. So you are correct. Doubt many people at Mossberg are still there from the 1975.
Nothing about in the white offerings, perhaps one the never made it to the bluing tanks before they closed their doors? I am sure one else will fill in more details.
