Wrong again, Teddy. That's 0 for 2.

They may not be stock, but they's 'glides, and they bad.

May not be stock, Stanley?

Do you know what a transbreak is? Who builds a car I get one in? And drive to the supermarket or my local WMA?

Besides, who said I was wrong the first time?

No less than Joe Wood confessed to trouble with a light gun. Hope all the lessons Mike has been giving him, all these years, were free.

Game point, fella.

Best,
Ted

Guns and cars, they don't make 'em like they used to. Hunt with the light guns just because you can, but not always. Maybe, the four speed is the easy pick, but I'd have a blast putting around for an hour or two in a Powerglide car like my '66 Chevelle was a while back.

Well. Make that 0 for 3. It's Stanton, not Stanley. More mistaken assumptions. You're really piling 'em up.

You didn't say car manufacturers, Teddy, you said "NOBODY builds cars with 'glides anymore". Kinda like your blanket statement about light guns, eh? Hot rodders DO count when you say "nobody". Lots of street machines are built with 'glides.

This is fun, but I'm gonna wait quietly now until Pete shows us these Lindner beauties. Thanks, Ted.

Jaeger that gun is not mine. I stole the pictures from Lewis Drake's website (actually I linked to them). It is the little Rizzini Brothers 28 ga he has listed for sale. http://www.sitemason.com/page/ieM09i

My shooting student Joe Wood greatly exaggerated my prowess with the little Parker. He does shoot his 6-1/2 pound 1 frame Parker DH12 very well, better than I shoot any gun. I do wonder what Joe would do with his very light Lefever 20 gauge if he actually practiced shooting skeet with it out at the Amarillo Gun Club instead of listening to SkeetTX pontificate on all matters, great and small? Say twleve rounds of skeet in one week. 3 rounds Tuesday morning, 3 Thursday afternoon, 3 Saturday morning, 3 Sunday afternoon. He might actually shoot the little 20 almost as well as he shoots the DH12.

I fully concede (again) that it is easier to shoot heavy guns well than it is to shoot light guns well. But, with a little practice, the light guns can be shot well. Especially if you already know how to shoot heavier guns well, which Joe does.

And I agree with Swoobie, I also would sure like to see pics of the Lindner-Daly pair. And fair is fair as I posted pics of the pair engraved on the little Rizzini.

Edit: Ted I feel your pain. May you get out to the range soon. And I admire the Darnes. The 28ga seem to be pretty scarce.

Mike, if I shot that much skeet with that light a weight gun I'd have the worst flinch at the end of it I'd look like I was going through the DT's. Only one round is usually enough to cure me of most of my fantasies and drive me to reconsider the wisdom of maintaining my sobriety.

Well, not if you shot that light weight gun with a light weight charge. You shoot 7/8oz in your 7 pound 12 gauge clays guns. So shooting 3/4oz (6/8oz) in a six pound gun or 5/8oz in a five pound gun wouldn't punish you so bad as your big 12s I think. Your Damascus barreled LeFever 20ga was built to digest 3/4oz loads as its regular fare. Your cool little six pound Cashmore sidelock sixteen was intended to spew 7/8oz as its service load so dropping it down to 3/4oz (6/8oz) would put it in the same shot to gun weight ratio as your regular skeet guns. I have heard you complain about the high stock on the Cashmore: 14-1/4 x 1-1/2 x 2-1/4 as I remember it.

But I also seem to remember you shooting skeet with a Webley and Scott 700 at 6-4 and a Harkom at 6-6 or so, both guns 12 bore. So the light subgauge guns shooting light charges should punish you less than those two of course.

Shooting 5/8oz in my 5-3/4 pound Parker 28 feels about about like shooting a 22 rifle.

I learned to shoot double trigger guns at the tender age of 51. I learned to shoot SxS guns at 51 also. I learned by practicing with guns so configured. But if I hadn't gone to that effort I hope I wouldn't post a statement here like "Tough to shoot guns that come in with side by side barrels and two triggers..." But that is an absolute fact, unless you have practiced with such guns until you have learned how to shoot that configuration.
