Picked up an extremely nice and heavily engraved pinfire at this weekends gun show. Everything indicates a very well made shotgun from a skilled gunsmith. I have plenty of photos should someone wish to post them for me, on the side of the receiver is what appears to be "Leger Armer a Sedan" My email is Texasbadger@sbcglobal.net

Must be Arquebusier/Armurier Leger on the River Meuse at Sedan?
Kind Regards,

Nah, I don't think it to be a set-screw or the like

Its attached to the pivoting lever, it rotates with the lever. There is another lever underneath the underlever that releases the barrel, the last one I had a pin you had to tap out to get to underside of barrel. Is this guy a renown gunmaker?

Probably not. The sporting weapon was manufactured in St. Etienne by LG, maybe his Nr. 2? Sedan is some 300 miles North of St. Etienne.
Kind Regards,

While we art on pin-fires. I am after some brass 12 bore pin-fire cartridge cases similar to these http://www.hc-collection.com/PBSCProduct.asp?ItmID=3507654 but a lot cheaper. Kranks in England used to stock them but are out of them and can't get any more. If you know of a possible source I would be most interested. Lagopus.....
