Bob, I sort of figured you would be using those triggers on it. But only a 14" pull - for you that would seem short. I think I have over 15" on my highwall and it might be a titch long, but only a titch. I would think you would want all of that and more.

FWIW, Glenn is building a new long range gun on an Earle/Fraizer action in .40-82 paper patch. Not sure I like the caliber but he is determined. 40-72 might be a bit better balanced as a load, but I'm guessing a bit.

Nice work for sure.

An original Ballard Pacific in a medium bore like .38-50 or .38-55 or .40-65 (not WCF) is one of the most businesslike rifles I've ever seen, handled, and fired. Made for action. (I like the .45 cal ones, too, but they don't seem to like me....).

Rebuilding a Parker DH No. 2 frame extractor gun made aprox 1900- I have a set of 30" DHE No 2 frame barrels- and found a proper extractor and lug cocking hook- So I will be soon offering the two ejector blades from the original DHE for sale- FYI- The barrels are Damascus, if they were Titanic steel, maybe I might proceede differently. Parker No 3 grade 12 extractor forearms are sometimes available- finding a unbroken or boogered-up buttstock for this- a nother ball game indeed- but that's the fun of "project guns"- the search and rescue ops!!

Yeah, Fox, parts hunting is indeed part of the fun. And a successful rescue of a good old gun makes ya feel GOOD.

Very nice action and sights to start a project with! More Pacific actions have been reworked in to custom target or schuetzen rifles, than any other Ballard action made! Hard to beat the forged action, and DST on these actions!

I'm getting close to done on mine. Still need a person to checker it, but that's all that's left now.

My .32 Kit gun project. Pre-war type adjustable rear sight made and install by another gunsmith friend of mine, same with oversize front blade.

I shaped, serrated and soldered front blade, file fit rear sight and polished to match frame.

All fit and polished shown with factory .22 Kit Gun

Dan completed hand polishing last week and we gave it a "High Sheen" rust blue.

Never offered from the factory, ready for gopher season with a one-off, .32 Kit gun. Eventually it will get it's own set of fancy custom target grips.

.32 Long wadcutters have some serious thump for small and medium sized critters up to woodchuck/coon size. VERY accurate, usually, too.

Neat custom revolver!
