Beautiful guns! I have an FEI case, very nice quality.

Dang! Is that price good for that maker?

Prices seem to be all over the place.

Mark, thank for providing the FEI website address. Kelly assisted in sponsorship of our 70 year old North South skeet shoot last year. She went beyond the call of duty. They are not only makers of nice cases, they are nice people. My big eightbore case is a piece of work. It was built for my McComas, but now houses my 3 3/4 inch chamber nitro proof 33" Greener, a perfect fit with a three inch muzzle spacer that they sent when they built the case, just in case I wanted to shorten the McComas!

Oak & Leather are for display/storage. For travel you may want a softcase if by vehicle for hunting or target shooting or a Motor Case for more protection if needed. A Motor Case holds the disasembled shotgun with the frame/stock vertically, resulting in a smaller footprint. I had one made for a 2" Brit boxlock that i have. The Oak/Leather cases I have are very heavy and for display/storage only. For airline travel, Americase or similar is the only way to go. Your gun definitely warrants a oak & leather case. However, they are 99% all about aesthetics, but then again that is what 99% of us are concerned about and turned on by. Your gun will look great in one. Having owned a couple, I can attest that they weigh a ton and are very uncomfortable to use when transporting your gun. I have found that the most functional case to be a compact toe under breakdown case.

Buy the oak & leather to satisfy your need for "framing your art" and buy a plastic or aluminum hardcase for protecting it during transit where the going gets tough or out of your control (airline).

Oak and leather are fantastic, BUT before you spend the money consider this :-

Whilst an Oak and Leather may look fantastic in the gun room proudly showing off your gun, they are blooming HEAVY, and if the case is for travel I would rather have a traditional lightweight leather or canvas and leather hard case. They are also less susceptible to damage. Yoyu drop a lightweight case - it might bounce. You drop a heavy Oak and leather case and its a bl**dy disaster, shattered wood and loose joints etc etc.
