Fully stripped and cleaned M 31 Remington 16 G few months ago, very good UTube Video on how to do it. They can be a puzzle.

I use 3 Remington pumps, 12 870 16 & 20 M 31's to make emptys at the skeet range from factory loads for my SxS guns. Not being competitive outfits I only shoot doubles low gun. Might be comming out of your shoulder just a bit pumping and back on the bird is a better way to shoot. They get a lot of attention on the Skeet field. Nice old guns.

I've been meaning to get this 16ga Montgomery Ward engraved like a sweet 16 browning. People always wonder at a dove shoot when I tell'em it is a rare Sweet 16 Pump. Thumb top safety and Mod. choke 28" barrel. I have another front end for it with IC 26". I do not love it...Geo

Boats: They are nice old guns. It's been a voyage of discovery for me and I've really enjoyed it. Being a refugee from Appalachia, I certainly grew up with pumps, but over the years I somehow drifted away from them. One thing I didn't leave behind me, however, was being a thrifty old Scot. I love well-made things that stand the test of time and some of these old corn-shuckers are pretty impressive, both in design and execution. They are also kind-of fun (when you don't have a lot of $$$ tied up in something, you tend to use it a bit differently). There will always be a place in my arsenal for one or two of them.

George: Neat old gun. One of those 520-30s in 20-gauge would be a hoot to have. I'm still looking for one. FWIW: If I found a 16 like that in good shape and for the right price, it would probably follow me home as well.
