If you can't see because your eyes are on fire, and there is a large quantity of snot pouring out of your burning sinuses, you won't be thinking about stealing anything... just getting the hell out. The only drawback I know of is the potential to have it go off on yourself if you forget to disarm it. You will only make that mistake one time... trust me on this. I didn't know a human body could produce so many tears, and you get bruised from blindly crashing into door frames trying to get out.
