It's hard to beat a walk along the hedgerows with a .410 . My old Spanish folding double used to kill rabbits just as dead as a Purdey would. I bought a WW1 Lee Enfield bored to .410 a few years back, it's surprisingly quiet with 2 and a half inch cartridges. Took some getting used to the open sights but it's a lot of fun to use .

I worked with a guy who was a big time rabbit hunter down here in NC. He started hunting rabbits with a 44 Mag with the shotshell bullets. I was asked to go a couple of times but could not wrap myself around that type of hunting.
Being a bird hunter by heart, when I moved to another part of the state I was asked to go rabbit hunting with my neighbor. I always liked my Hump Back Browning A5 in 29 gauge.

I have killed doves, snipe and preserve pheasants with my .410 O/U. Jim
