My first wife was so glad to leave she didn't take any guns, just money. Second wife doesn't care about my gun habit, as long as I leave her jewelry habit alone.

I have bought several small bore doubles for my wife: A Birmy 28 bore, a Parker 28ga, a really nice game engraved Birmy 20 bore, a nice light Fox 20 gauge, a Parker Reproduction 28ga. She now has a really nice collection.

I'm not sure if she knows it though.

Gil I also got her a bird dog puppy for her birthday a few years ago. Eight years ago I got her a bird dog puppy for Mother's day. And 12 years ago I got her a bird dog puppy for Mother's Day.

I am really good to that gal!

I don't know how good a shot she is, but Mike's having a tough time getting her to clean her guns after Mike borrows them.

Not true:

When I return home she cleans the guns and the birds. I have to admit it took some time and effort to get her to pluck the birds instead of skinning them.

Best thing I EVER did was let my wife pick out the bird dog. Now she trials with me, occasionally hunts with me, and even bought me a nice little 686 20ga. She even wants her own gun now. The problem is she wants gun that, in her own words, has "that color case stuff with barrels that are SXS, and it has to have really nice wood too." I showed her a really nice AYA #2 RB, and her words were "it's nice, but I want better wood." I wouldn't trade her for the world though. I've got bird hunting trips planned this year to South Africa, South Dakota, and a trip to PA, and she doesn't bat an eye. Of course she might want me leaving so she can call her boyfriend over, I don't know. ;-)
