Looking for some information on an Union Armera Model 208D.

I am aware of the history of UA/Grulla. What seems difficult to find is information specific to to the 208D.

The 208D I have in my hands:

SLnE w/ hidden third fastener
70cm barrels
Straight grip w/ splinter forend
.721" Bores
Chokes: .020"R .040"L
Proofed 1951 per chart at Hallowell

Common model in that era?

Rare in the USA? (Internet search seems to say so.)

Value? Condition is very good.

The UA 208-D is uncommon here in the USA, but one crops up from time to time. I did a quick Google and it looks like they are going for 400 - 500 Euro in Spain right now.

They don't come up for sale often enough here in the States to do more than guess at what one would bring at auction today. My guess (and I emphasize the word 'guess') would be about $1,000 - $1,200.

Hope this helps some.

Looks like a 209 to me. Anybody else know? Maybe worth around $700-$800 if in good shape.

Spanish shotgun models are pretty slippery, but I don't think that's a 208. Here are a couple examples of model 208s:

Your gun looks to me to be closer to a very plain model 209. Given the lack of engraving, freckling, and general sense of 'well used' I'd guesstimate value in the $500 - $600 range.

God, but I do love Spansh shotguns. A fellow just never knows what's waiting around the next corner.

OK, model 208 it is. My best guess of value is still in the $550 range +/- about 10%.

Question - what does it weigh?

Weight is 7lbs even.

LOP 14 1/2" to original buttplate.





Condition appears to be more of a storage issue. Screws are unturned, barrels ring true and are tight, on face.

I'll have it stripped down in a couple of days for thorough inspection and cleaning. Reblack the barrels, refinish the wood. Recut the checkering if needed. In a couple of weeks it will be 'new' again.

This thread is a good demonstration of just how little �model� can mean when it comes to Spanish shotguns. When each gun is individually made to a customer�s description just about anything is possible. Want top end engraving on a bottom price point gun? No problem. Want no engraving on a top end gun? No problem. Buyer can get anything he can describe � and pay for.
