If you are making a new stock, use a butt plate rather than a pad. Parkers always seem to be worth more with a plate than with a pad, and they look better too. I think the 1923 guns had no spur, but someone on the PGCA BBS can give you the scoop on that. If you can't find a suitable original plate, use a repro until you can find an original that fits. If you must have a pad, I think the Silvers-types look best, and they are readily avalable.
