I've done some of both, Larry.

It's a better field gun. O'Connor sold quite a few in that very configuration.

Winchester, in their own words... said the WS-1 was optimized for 20 yards, and the WS-2 was optimized for 30 yards. That's one thing Winchester said that is the truth.

As far as being 'set up' for skeet, it ain't.

We both know the dimensions of a skeet field.

It's a good combination for doubles from 4, but that's the only place any choke is desirable on the whole field.

'Skeet 2' as it became known for whatever reason is just one of those little absurdities in life... it does show how people pay attention to ads and the result is that a thing can become engrained in culture no matter how ridiculous it is.

'The Model 21, your gun for skeet' ranks right alongside 'Less filling, tastes great.'

I purchased these 28" barrels to fill in a 20 gauge 2 barrel set where the 30" 3" magnums were intact, and the 26" WS1/WS2 had gone MIA.
Regardless of the IC/WS2 factory designations, the unmolested decimal constrictions read .004/.006,"Skeet In/ Skeet Out".
The serial number bares out a mid 1930's build. I think someone had something very specific in mind.

While you and I might agree on cylinder being an excellent choice for a skeet gun (except for the .410), guns choked "skeet" do have some constriction--whether they need it or not.

Bob, I have two 20 ga 21 skeets w/WS2s that are .010. A third, a DTej gun, had its WS2 opened to IC (w/factory overstamp) and is now .005. All three WS1s are .003, BTW.
