Hi, guess I'll toss my 2c in here. If you live down south, it may help to visit Academy Sports. They sell a Turk gun made by Yildiz. This is not one of your crappy Turk guns (as some are). This one is a lot of gun for the $$$. Nice wood, a reliable SST (mine has been), choke tubes with 28" bbls, ejectors and nice workmanship overall. The SST trigger does not have the heavy pulls known for on Turk guns, a bit gritty and some creep, but good enough for hunting. The ejectors are strong and well timed and the bbl regulation is quite good. The gun has an alloy action to keep the weight down (mine weighs 5-10, it's a 20ga BTW) The price is less than $500. Here's a link: http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/yildiz-2...3179+4294958154Good Luck in your search! Greg

You did not specify that the guns need to be new. If slightly used will do 20 Ga Ithaca/SKB 100's are readily available in like new shape for around $850.00. Very nice double, better than the CZ, for $850.00. May take a week or two to collect them all, worth the wait.

No used guns of varying degrees of condition, not to mention running them down wherever. AS GJW said, the Yildiz is the best idea. I would prefer one over the CZ/Huglu. Our good friend here Stan Hillis has been using a little .410 Yildiz sxs to murder early-season doves for several years with no problems. JR

When I was twelve I was using a plastic, oh forgive me, TENITE stocked J. C. Higgins double. If someone had given me an A5 E Elegante Yildiz I woulda thought I had died and gone to heaven.
What a great gesture for the benefactor to make. There are good people left.

Another double gun you can find pretty easily is 20ga Miroku made Charles Daly SxS. These are really well made and my grandson loves his. They are available for $600 - $800 if you shop around a little. I prefer them to CZ.

I have no experience with Yildiz they might be good. I have 4 LC Smiths, 1 Parker, 1 Fox. 1 Stevens Springfield SXS's And I have 1 CZ Bobwhite in 28ga. I do like them all and do like the CZ a lot. No problems whatsoever with it.

John, You may disagree, it won't cost much. Something for the OP to consider is all. The idea that somebody would do this for these kids is just great no matter what guns they end up with.

My first suggestion was to try to find some "classic american" sxs's. If you'd be more comfortable with a more modern gun choice, I'd still go to the internet auctions and find three 20ga used Miroku Daly, or Ithaca SKB japanese guns. I just can't recommend any of the new turkish(yildiz, cz,huglu) guns available at your price point...Geo
Better yet, with the enthusiastic reception your thread has received here, try posting a 'wanted ad' in the 'for sale' forum of this site!

I don't know current asking for SKB Ithaca but for my money they're best-buy in the country.
