I went to pick up a shotgun at the UPS depot Monday. The delivery attempt was Friday at home, but signature required.
When I picked up the gun, it was in a unmarked box with nothing to indicate contents. The clerk told me "it's gotta be a shotgun." "How'd you know?" "It was the amount of insurance on the delivery and box type." She explained that guns can't be shipped from store locations partly because of storage considerations. All gun shipments are segregated and locked up at the depot. I have a FedEx delivery scheduled for tomorrow, signature required on another gun. Rather than go through the hassle I experienced on the last gun shipment, this morning I went to a nearby Fedex store and had the shipment delivery changed to the store. Far better than going through the hassle I had with the last shipment trying to guess when I should be home for signature.
