The result of this effort, and others that seem directed at our "safety" is a reduction in user pleasure.

Guns are overproofed, hence heavy and cumbersome, locked away for safety therefore they cannot be visually enjoyed, accurate but not with lead free ammo, etc etc. Saying this was a preconceived but hidden agenda puts one in the conspiracy theory pen, so no one speaks. And the process goes on.
