Me, either.

And I would still like to hear the proof house proponent Englishman's reply to your statement about the fact that American gun manufacturers never warn us against shooting British ammo in our guns, but it is always the other way around.

Hi All:

Thanks for all of the replies!

I will bet that the gunsmithsays something like this to me. "It did not happen here." "Must have been something that YOU did."

Stay well my friends,

If I was in your position, I'd certainly be seeking legal advice.
Am I right to think that this person not only did work you hadn't asked for, but then charged you for it ?
As it stands, you are worried about using YOUR gun, YOUR heirloom, because of the quality (or lack of it) of the work carried out without your say so
The end result, as you say , could be that the gun becomes a wall hanger. You've lost money and you've lost the gun ?
Don't let him get away with it. He could be destroying other people's pride and joy AND risking causing serious injury to the person pulling the trigger.

I agree, if he is reputable he will correct or compensate. If not he should be named here so others can avoid him.

Hello all:

No, he did not polish the barrels as they were perfect when I sent him the gun. The chambers were already 2 3/4" so they did not have to be lengthened. There was no rust or pitting anywhere on the gun both inside and out. The stock was also pristine.

All that I asked him to do was to bend the stock, open the chokes and place back on face. I did not want any lengthened forcing cones!

As I stated, the left barrel now has some very deep gouges in it in front of the chambers. I am concerned that if these marks are removed, the barrel will be too thin to shoot!

Thanks to all for your replies.

Stay well my frinds,

Franchi
