I recently stumbled upon a Sedgley that has been abused -- barrel cut to 24 and Weaver scope mounts drilled, stocked in a monte carlo mess and the original safety switched to the Buehler style. That said, it's got the one-line address, all the right marks, serial in the right place, the bore is pristine and it appears to have the speed lock, as the cocking bolt remains proud 1/4 inch when fully forward.
Soooo, I am in the hunt for a Sedgley-pattern stock blank, a Lyman 48 long slide sight and a ramp front sight that at least sort of looks like an original. There's a stock outfit in Weiser, Idaho, that may have the Great American Gunstock Sedgley pattern (e-mail in to them) and NECG makes a passable banded ramped front sight, but there's nothing quite like a Lyman 48 LS. See one on Ebay for a lot of cash and not in the best shape. Anyone here have one they would consider parting with?
