Would like to hear how the Vintage Cup was this year. Was there many vendors? Were there any interesting guns?

My wife and I made the trip from Western PA to the Vintagers. We spent most of the day there Friday then a a couple of hours Saturday morning. We did have a great time. There seemed to be more vendors and people there than the previous two years. I was able to sell three shotguns and purchase one. I didn't shoot, so I can't comment on that. Even though my wife has no interest in shotguns or shooting she met and spent time with some of the ladies there, even enjoying an afternoon tea. Hopefully some momentum will carry through to next year. I'll be there.

I was there too! Dover Furnace shooting grounds were fabulous....Best venue ever. Wheather was perfect....maybe even a bit too hot on Saturday...but very tolerable in the shade.

Stalking rifle course....beautiful...Hard with much longer range targets than normal. The top shooters were still top but scores were considerably lower.

Stopping rifle course...very good...with a really fast charging target. Some competitors were only able toget off one shot.

Drilling course....nice...However, we need more drilling and Cape Gun shooters to insure future viability of the events. Hats off to the German Gun Collectors for sponsoring those events.

Clays courses nicely aportioned with picturesque backgrounds...

I managed to miss very well on both the stalking course and small bore course.

Lots of vendors...Lots of fine guns. I saw some Darne's I liked and a bunch of nice Parkers. There were a ton of high end British guns...and if you couldn't find what you wanted there I'd be shocked.

My wife went with me 1st time ever which was kinda cool....

I would go again as I think Ray puts ona nice event.

I was there Thursday through Saturday and shot 10, 12 and 16 gauge guns. As far as I could tell, at each sporting clays station there was a different menu of shot presentations for every gauge and I think a different menu for the various hammer gun gauges. Side events included 3 different 5 stand set ups. Most varied and fun shooting I've seen at any Vintage Cup location.

That's really nice to hear, about the event. Ray is a neat guy; they came down, I wanna say twice, to do events at our club. It was a long while ago. Both were fun, but it was early in the game of resurrection to affect a renewed interest in things double gun. I have the utmost respect for his untiring efforts and the fact that the effort not only remains alive, but that it is transitioning into a viably challenging venue keeping participants on their collective toes.

More power to he & the Vintagers ... and to the participants!

My wife and I went for three days and had a great time. The venue and shooting were first rate. There were lots of nice guns in the tents and many nice folks to talk to.

We'll be back next year.

We were there from Friday thru Sunday and entered several of the hammer and hammerless events, both 12 and sub gauge. We also went to the Saturday night dinner and met some really nice people, like Dave Weber and his wife along with Ray and Melanie.

We had shot at Dover before but the stations and presentations were all different and each gauge and category, hammer, hammerless and sub- gauge had different presentations that kept us on our toes, so to speak.

There were two large vendor tents with plenty of vintage American, British, and European guns, within and without my budget, as well as clothing and all the extras that go along with SxSs.

I could never attend the events in Maryland so I was glad the Vintagers opted for NY. The weather was sunny and warm and it was good to catch up with friends I met at the Northeast and other shoots.

The piper should get a medal for endurance and the various tunes added to the overall ambiance. I may get a kilt for next year, tho I am not Scottish. I do like Lagavulin.


We will be back next year and hope to enter more of the sub- gauge hammer and hammerless events.

Enjoyed spending four days there. Dover Furnace is a very nice facility. Beautiful landscape. Targets were good with good variety. The lunch buffets were really great. Crowd started thin but picked up over the weekend. I recall seeing about 75 shooters listed in the 12 gauge preliminary results.

Most of the gun vendors had been at the Orvis Game Fair in Millbrook the previous weekend, though some put out more guns at the Vintage Cup.

Haven't seen the main event results. Anyone seen them posted yet?

My wife and I were there 4 days and had a great time!! Looking forward to next year's event.

I had a very successful show. The venue was undoubtedly the match of RI, if not better, and the weather was better but we can't blame Robin Hollow for that!
As DGM says, food was excellent and in extravagant quantities although pricy for the vendors who might have only been able to get away for a minute and just wanted a snack.
Not the amount of foot-fall in the vendors tents we all would have liked but it is a new venue and I for one am more than happy to give it a few years to build.
