Spanish Gregorio San Martin 20 gauge, SLNE. I had it stocked to my measure, using my wood. Macon supplied the skeleton butt plate:http://s295.photobucket.com/user/Kyrie_E...20Martin?sort=9 Cost for the stock work, right around $1,200. Turnaround time, circa eight months. I'm a happy camper. I'm aware there are some folks on the forum who have had bad experiences with Macon and have been quite harsh. I suppose that's why we have the expression "YMMV". Speaking purely for myself and based on my experience, I'm happy with Macon. The San Martin is the third side lock Macon has re-stocked for me and I've been more than satisfied with what I had for my money on all three guns. I've just put a fourth gun in the mail to them, to be re-stocked, and have am considering two more. | | |

Kyrie, great job, beautiful piece of wood. Did that price include the checquering? I have heard of problems from them, but with results like that, hard to bad mouth them.

David,
Yes sir, price was for a finished, checkered, stock with a skeleton butt plate. In essence I sent Macon the gun, the stock blank, an order form with my measurements, and they took it from there.

It's not a perfect stocking job, but at $1,200 I didn't expect a perfect job. I'm happy with what I got for the money I spent, which is why I keep sending them guns, stock blanks, and money :-)

why would you pay only $1200, when others want two grand?
if this trend continues, the purveyors of over priced gun restocking may be in trouble...course there are those who will continue to pay too much, so they can bray that "so and so did hit". aint i wonderful?

Lovely wood, nice work, who could ask for more?? Guy at a trap shoot showed me his new Perazzi, saw several checkering runovers, I said Nice, man. But the leather case was splendid!
