Thanks for the information everyone has posted on this. I've been collecting guitars for some time but am new to the world of antique guns. I don't need to sell it urgently, but am considering it as there are other toys I'd like to have.

Quick note - I may have gotten confused about the gauge as I had taken a few others with me to the gun store. It is either 12ga or 20ga.. I'm now thinking 12 but I'll clarify that soon.

So, it appears that this is a Daly Prussian that was built by Heym. I also know that it was built no earlier than 1927 because of the patent date on the recoil pad.

I've created a new gallery of photos where I've numbered the markings on the gun with the hope that someone may know what each of them mean. Here is the link:

http://postimg.org/gallery/6btvak8m/

and here's a list of what I've numbered, with apologies my uneducated descriptions:

1. Two script characters, the first resembles an "8" while the second clear in the photo but not similar to any English character known to me.

2. Appears to be the initials "LK", with a small mark above the "K".

3. Initials "AH".

4. Strange symbol that looks a little like a bird in flight, if birds had heads that looked like a tooth with roots.

5. Capital letter "S" with unrecognizable (to me) character below it.

6. Almost looks like a stick-man with a round belly.

7. Similar to #4 but different. Almost looks like an angel.

8. The word "Nitro"

9. This must be an important mark, very similar to #4; has either a "7", or possibly a triangle in the center.

10. Not a character, possibly a crown with a crucifix on top?

11. Appears to be an uppercase "U".

12. Looks more like a logo, has two words that form a circle. Not sure about all letters, but the words appear to be "KRUTF" and "STIIL"

here is the link to the overall photos again for reference also:

Thanks again for any help guys (and gals if any here). It seems that the more I learn, the less I know and I haven't been able to find a gun similar enough to this one to place a value on it as there are so many manufacturers over several decades.

Fancy an image of that #9.

Unless you find a date code, I'm hard pressed to date it post 1923.

Odd that there's not a bore stamp. I'd say remove the wood side panels and post some images.

Then encircled are initials of mechanics who have contributed effort, accepting compensation and liability.

Red - script EK or EH

Blue - LK and considering the ensemble, that would be Louis Kelber Suhl

Yellow - serial number w/ pagoda AH - Adolf Heym of Friedrich Wilhelm Heym

Hi Raimey,

Are you thinking that the proof I labeled as #6 might be the "crossed guns" proof, and that it might indicate Linder as being involved in it's manufacture? I can see how it resembles the shape, but it is much thinner. I cropped it from a better picture and adjusted the contrast/gamma for this photo:

Also, can you tell me the significance of the proof (#9) that you pointed out?

My camera is in the shop having dropped it, but I'll carefully remove the side panels once I get it back and see if there is a bore stamp or any other markings underneath.

Thanks again for your help.

The Imperial Eagle coupled with the Crown over U on the water table/frame I believe notes that the sporting weapon experienced the 2nd firing and then examined/Untersuchungsstempel.

Thank you. I found that mark (Crown over U) in Fjestad 35th Anniv. Ed., although it's confusing as it says "since 1950". I know the gun is considerably older than that, and I've seen the same mark on other Dalys here on the forum that date much earlier.

As for the mark with the pointed edges that appears to have a "7" in the middle, I still have no idea.

Hello guys,

This gun has been listed on Gunbroker. 3 day one-time auction only, as I will probably sell it locally if not sold online.

I see the 20ga swelled up to a 12ga when you listed it for the auction and on the for sale page. Must have taken the wood panels off and found the chamber markings. Why not post photos of those on here and let us learm more about the gun please.
