One of the local gun dealers has an Italian sidelock (?) for sale. It's not a high grade gun, but it is modern (BF date code), has decent wood, cocking indicators, and a hinged front trigger. The engraving looks like it was probably rolled and perhaps hand-chased: it's a ribbon and flower pattern with no real scrolls. The only markings on it other than the proof marks (clearly Italian) and "accacio special" are the name Artarm (all one word) and a stamping on the barrel flats and the water table of what appears to be a dog's head with a bird in its mouth. There are no importer's marks I can find on the barrels or the action.

I couldn't find anything at all about it in a search of the name on Google. Do any of you recognize the name or can you tell me anything about the gunmaker?

Thanks.
