This is where the advantages of putting the bucks out for good optics comes into play, in my estimation. Never owned a 2X7 Leupold RF, but everything I've heard has been favorable ( eg. Jacob Jesus). The straight 4X lightweight I do have is a dream. And, in general, what I do know about Leupold products has been favorable. Making reliable, bright, sharp-imaged variables is something the better scope makers have learned years ago and I think that any weight differential between the 4X and 2X7 Leupold RFs is very small.
Last, your little LUX CZ is capable of less than .5" accuracy at 50 yards, properly tuned, with selected bullets and well glassed - - or the CZ posts I occasionally read over on the rimfire forums are blowing hot air. A 7X glass at 60 yards or more is going to yield a much better target than a 4X on small targets. Then think one hundred yards. And, then, of course, if you want to tread into deep woods after grays you've got 2X and 3X power settings on your side. Seems like a natural to me.
Best of luck.
