Not that big a deal to cock a 21 if you remember the top lever.

I store long guns assembled, muzzle down on rubber cheesecloth placemats. The muzzle is never perpendicular to the floor - for those who worry needlessly about rifle crowns and such.

I do not bother dropping the hammers on anything - just uses one more compression cycle in the life of a spring.
