I would like to wrap the wrist of my Parker VH that I use for a trap gun so it fits my hand better. It doesn't have much finish left but I still don't won't to screw it up.

I have heard of people using electrical tape. I assume it is the new plastic kind but I suppose it could be the old cloth tape.

Anybody?

Thanks!

Mike

You could use elastic vet wrap first before tape. I do that with my bird dogs.....wrap wrist with vet wrap, then Lewis dog boots then tape (for that I use duct tape, but Drew's tennis wrap would likely be best for a gun).

Aw come on Mike, you know the rules: if it doesn't move and it should, WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't, duct tape.

You might try the self-sealing polyurethane tape from the auto supply. Stuff is very flexible and bonds to itself but not to what it's wrapped around. Once it fuses to itself, it can be difficult to get off.

For a test run, you could use the blue 3M painter's tape from Home Depot or any paint store. Easy on, easy off, no tape residue.

Try using a whack/slice from a tennis ball, squash ball or any of the shock absorbing urethane materials covered w/a section of old inner tube like from a motorcycle or large bicycle tire size. No glue, no goo, no mess and you can mess with it until it feels correct very easily. The tube will also provide a good no-slip surface.

Be gentle with that nice old parker....!
I found these gloves to be a super investment, soft and supple, they keep your forehand cool, and the palmswell fills out your grip very nicely. No messy tape!

At times I've seen various slip on pieces to go over a splinter forearm. These are generally used to decrease the heat to your off hand but would certainly provide a better grip as well. This might be a more pleasing alternative to tape.

If you still want the feel, there are shooting gloves with leather palms, but with the fingers cut off. They would help your grip. I have a pair I'll send you if you wish.
