Let me see now. 45 Guinnea's would be 47/05/00p and at four Dollars to the pound in the exchange rate of the day that would work out at approx. US $188.00 and change. Expensive, when most men were on a dollar or two a day at the most. Good quality wasn't cheap even then.

Accurate enough for the intended game but it is a tad bit difficult to hold and steady...   But as the Maharaja of Cooch Behar opined "Recoil is insignificant when there is a tiger on the head of your elephant"
