The taste of poor quality lingers long after the cheap price is forgotten.........

CJ, I had a bit lower grade Greener 16 bore with the same rib address in Paris. Oddly enough, the gun was proofed in Austria.
Later, I remembered my gun was a Cogswell and Harrison, but with that rib address that your Greener had. The Coggy was proofed in Austria.

My circa 1872 Greener with the self acting striker, which was his first patent after leaving his father's shop. Non rebounding locks and Jones underlever. Gun is pristine original. Oh, wild Texas Panhandle quail on a cold February day.

This is my Far Killer model, made in 1884. 12 gauge with 2 3/4" chambers, as ordered trough the Italian Greener's importer. [img:center] [/img]

I was lucky enough to be holding that 16 gauge CJO posted just last week. The engraving is exquisite. What a lovely gun! As they all are. I really like that single shot hammer gun.
