I had the wonderful opportunity to review Bill's Ithaca engraving effects. Among the treasures was a small container of China Wax. My guess is that he filled the engraving with ink or lamp black and then coated a paper with the wax to lift the pattern. Hopefully some one more familiar with this activity can shed some light on the process he used. The 'effects' were from his later years of his long career.
