My gunsmith finally got my mystery Springfield Model 1922 .22 Hornet conversion apart. He reports that the only marks visible are the initials GLS on the stock in pencil.

Do any of you recognize these initials as belonging to an identifiable stock maker? The gun could have been converted at any time between the 30s and the 90s, which doesn't help in pinning it down.

The gunsmith still has the gun, so no photos at this time.
