I am going to talk to my Congressman about this nonsense and see if we cannot get something changed in our laws to allow Canadians to buy ammunition from the US. Urge others here to do so.

John I like the sentiment but right now relations between your liberal Obama administration and our conservative government are at close to a historical low. To say our Prime Minister Harper doesn't get on well with Obama is an understatement.
Save your powder until you have a different administration.

There might be more to it than just the explosives issue and what passes for Homeland Security. A couple of years ago I needed an odd tool for something I was working on and I found it on Amazon Canada, but not on Amazon US. Amazon Canada would not ship it to me.

Replacement, Canadians' national pastime is cross border shopping. That kind of issue usually involves internal policies for the company. Amazon or whoever. We run into it all the time.
It's usually because they have some warehouses in Canada and some in the US and for a variety of reasons they make a policy decision that it is more hassle that it's worth get involved in shipping an item stocked in one country to another. I could go into more detail but it's boring.
