Battle, I'm glad you took a chance and early evidence suggests it may work out. Keep us posted as your restoration progresses.

Battle,
I see it is supposed to be a Featherweight.
How much does it weigh?

5.5 lbs. I was looking for a light 12 something under 6. Was considering a couple different 2" 12's but this fills that desire nicely. Plus the Prussian Daly will be much less expensive but held same regard.

Battle, I've had my fingers crossed for you, or who ever bought it. Thats great about the bbl condition...gd thickness etc, sweet...I just cracked a small can of flat black Rustolium (hhmmm, or is it Rustolum, ha ha ), got the Greener's bbls done, taking a break before doing my nice Belgian Sle bbls, lol So it cost you 600 , hope the stock head is ok, n that a but transplant works good. So perhaps you will have a very nice gun, for what...2000? Of course , as you are able to do stuff yourself , but Im sure you dont count that, as its fun. Just hope the wood works out well for ye. Please keep us posted, & all the best of luck with that nice Gun cheers Franc

Battle,
Looks like your gamble paid off, as long as your initial wall thickness measurements hold up, and @ .030" you still have some room to work.
A 5 1/2 lb. 2 1/2" 12b with 28" barrels. Amazing...
And cocking indicators, a Deeley-Edge forend release, intercepting sears(??), great screw heads, a dolls head, and a really nicely filed up action.
Congratulations!

Sounds like the metal will clean up nicely. How badly is the stock cracked under the leather patchwork? Butt transplants are not something I offer but if I was going to offer them structural integrity of the head of the stock would be critical. I try to council my clients to not spend "good money after bad" as my mother put it. I'm not trying to change your plans for the gun, just curious is all. Great project!

I'm collecting some info & was curious if any & all could provide the width of the water table/frame at the hinge pin & radius/standing breech as well as the length. Any effort would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,

No, no, no. From the radius of the standing breech to water-table, if one exists. Thanks for the clarification.

Maybe also note if there is or is not a radius - might prove interesting.
