I see in the DGJ that Jim Howland's guns are up for sale at the June auction at Greg Martin's. I know all of these guns well and have to say these are some of the nicest Am4erican doubles to come available in a long time. The Damascun Optimus Lefever I feel is as nice aqs any produced. And there are several Baker's that few people realize the company was capable of putting out. The Remington EE is no dog either. This is just a heads up for those who may be in the maket to acquire some honest collector guns. Good luck, Paul

Paul, if it is anything like your fab EE - I could be interested.
Give me a hint, what do you think it'll go for?

I believe the last Optimus up for public auction sold for something close to $30,000 once all the dust cleared (fees, premiums, etc).

The engraving on this one is supposed to be some of the best that came out of the Lefever shop. Hopefully G Martin will post some images of this gun on their website.

Perhaps those here who have actually seen it will comment.

Pete
