I learn something every day, and a lot of times it's that what I learned the day before was wrong

Bit of work is one way to put it. But the screw for a front sight is a plus. Looks like the barrels were painted black at some point. If you are just wanting one to say you have one this is a option. And if bought at the right price you might even make it back into a shooter.

LOP 12.25"? That's a tough one to overcome and not have it look funny.
I prefer wood to plastic, leather to nylon, waxed cotton to Gore-Tex, and split bamboo to graphite.

But you can see from the custom additions to the stock side panels that it is a very rare Double Diamond Grade.
and the seller modestly confirms that it is in Very Good Condition!

What in the H%ll are those? Patches inlaid into the wood to cover bolts or pins run through the stock? A botched cracked Head repair? Are they wood? They almost look like some type of tape. The wood looks repeatedly sanded, the action metal looks "Proud" around the receiver edges. Ken

Featherweight Dalys are usually a little marginal in wall thickness. If the stock isn't actually broken, wall thickness is the next potential problem. If it passes both of those criteria, it could be a neat project.

Obviously an old non-factory mod pre-dating Home Depot's ascension, perhaps a classic #8 or smaller solid brass wood screw. The giveaway is that it is not a self-tapping Phillips head drywall screw which is a more modern day invention.

Curiously enough, screws are not buggered and in spite of the deplorable "cosmetic" state the quality of manufacture can still be appreciated.
For two hundred bucks initial investment couldn't someone save it?
