Last week I was buying a shotgun from an acquaintance when I saw a derelict drilling on a table. It had rusted but not pitted barrels and the barrels had been scrubbed outside with Scotchbrite or some other abrasive pad. The wood was good and it was tight The bores were nice and the rifle barrel very good. 16x16x8x57 .It was a competent gun and I took it home for a song and a whistle. Some Oxphoblue made the barrels look very nice and it will make a good "woods gun" for Florida. After I could read the barrels I discovered it was sold by Strover in Nordheim. Unlabeled JP Sauer action from 11/39. The action needs cleaning but it other than that it's a winner. Better than rusting away in a basement. This makes my second drilling from the same gun shop in Nordheim. It was still there a few years ago but as a bicycle shop.
