If someone spots something that's not clear or "irregular" in the post, why not try to get it cleared up for everyone's benefit--which, it seems to me, is a service for both the seller and any potential buyers. If I leave something off a gun I post for sale, or if there's something that needs clarification, I'd appreciate it if someone would post their comment or question in response to my listing.
Discussing rules of proof in General Discussion is certainly a good idea . . . although if and when we do, we might want to narrow things down just a bit. For example: Which country? Which time period? Otherwise, we're like the infamous "warning" President Bush received about the 9/11 Al Qaeda attack: turned out to be quite accurate, but not of much help to anyone without little details, such as where, when, and how they were planning to attack.
